Jacci Bear is a native Texan who has been in Austin full-time since 1991 and a frequent visitor for several years before that. Assistant (and daughter) Lyla Bear was born here in Austin in 1991.
Experience:
A former officer in the Texas Army National Guard at Camp Mabry in Austin, Jacci has raised four children here while also working from home or from various Wi-Fi hotspots around town. She's been writing about Austin places, events, and life in Central Texas since 1998.
Lyla has lived here her whole life, attending public school in Austin for seven years. She's been writing about Austin since 2006.
Education:
Jacci attended the University of Texas at Arlington (UT's North Texas campus). Lyla attended elementary and middle school in the Austin Independent School District.
